MTN-Qhubeka p/b Samsung have secured the services of the top German sprinter Gerald Ciolek to the end of the 2015 season.
The Milan San Remo winner will continue racing for the first African-registered Professional Continental team, and team principal , Douglas Ryder said “we’re delighted that Gerald has extended with us”. Ryder also felt the Ciolek had made a huge impact on the team not only with his results but also with mentoring the younger riders.
Ciolek’s win at this years Milan San Remo race was the boost that Ryder’s team required as they embarked on their European program. They’re excited to have a captain that is down to earth and takes the time to share his experience. We now look forward to increasing our race program as we build towards our first Grand Tour.”
Ryder hopes for a wild card invitation to one of the Grand Tours in 2014 and usually gets what he wants.
