Garmin-Sharp’s bossman Vaughters holds his breath for Team Time Trial.
Stage 4 could see a small part of Vaughters predictions come true.Stage 4 is the Team Time Trial and a winning result will see their top placed rider on GC pulling on the yellow leader’s jersey for the 2nd time in his career. The Garmin -Sharp team is one of the top favourites to win the 25km long team effort in the French coastal town, and if they do, then David Millar ,will be the man to take over the maillot jaune.Millar first wore the yellow jersey after the prologue stage of the race in 2000,when he kept it for 4 days.
Vaughters stated that his team were in it to cause chaos and with the last 3 days we have really seen some good examples of chaos, not all due to Garmin – Sharp’s doing. Vaughters denied that the possibility of Millar taking yellow would add any additional pressure to the team. “Our guys are out to win the stage and so it will be stressful anyway. I would imagine RadioShack riding well as they have the leader’s jersey already but there are at least another 5 or 6 teams that could find the leaders jersey on their shoulders after the team time trial stage.
