Froome set to win more stages than any other GC winner.
Sky Team and overall leader of the 100th Tour de France yesterday equalled the most number of stage wins for an overall winner since the Spaniard Miguel Indurain achieved this with his 3 time trial stage wins 21 years ago in 1992.While Chris has not won the overall title yet,he is looking in good shape to do so.
Lance Armstrong did win 5 stages in the 2002 Tour de France, however,as we all know these results no longer stand after he was stripped of all his Tour de France titles after admitting to doping throughout his career.
Chris Froome is being questioned with regards to doping on a daily basis, hopefully he continues to perform based on his ability, dedication and effort.Chris did spend most of December training on the roads in and around South Africa in warm weather doing really long rides. While this is not all that is required to be a winner and a champion it did give him an awesome base to build his season on while many other pro’s would have been indoors in cold Europe.
Today sees the tour climb Alpe d’Huez twice and we will witness a battle of epic proportions.
