Reinardt Janse van Rensburg becomes the eigth South African to start one of cycling’s Grand Tour’s after being selected to start the Vuelta a España for his Argos-Shimano team from the end of August.
The team have left their 2 top sprinters at home in multiple Tour de France stage winner Marcel Kittel and John Degenkolb and have opted for a more youthful team.
Team coach Christian Guiberteau gave details of the riders in the team.
“We head to Spain with a diverse young line-up with different riders who can be successful in both the flat and the hilly or mountainous stages,” he said.
Lets hope that Reinardt gets to enjoy the same success as Robert Hunter and Daryl Impey have enjoyed in grand tours.We will all be watching with interest and supporting him as he makes his way around Spain.
